Developed in collaboration with Glyn Evans, the founder of iPhoneography, Provoke Camera draws inspiration from Japanese photographers of the late 1960s such as Daido Moriyama, Takuma Nakahira, and Yutaka Takanashi.
Simple, elegant, and user-friendly, Provoke Camera focuses on producing black and white images with a gritty, grainy, blurry aesthetic reminiscent of the "Provoke" era of photography. It offers two formats: square format 126 and 35mm format 135.
Provoke Camera comes equipped with 9 black and white and 4 color live view effects in both film formats:
- HPAN High Contrast
- NPAN Normal
- LPAN Low Contrast
- X800 More High Contrast with more noise
- I800 IR-like filter
- Z800 +2EV with more noise
- D100 Darken with Blur (4Pixel)
- H100 High Contrast with Blur (4Pixel)
- E100 +1.5EV with Blur (4Pixel)
- Nofilter
- 100 Old Color
- 100U Vivid and Sharp
- 160N Soft
In addition to capturing striking black and white images, Provoke Camera enables users to import photos from their camera roll and apply any of the available "Provoke" effects. The app supports TIFF uncompressed image files and also features Photo Extension compatibility with iOS 8 and later, allowing users to utilize Provoke Filter within the Photos App.
